10 Cambridge Terrace

A new retail space, photographer’s studio and offices were added to a turn of the century, heritage building in a renovation that thoughtfully balances old with new. HMA’s concept, including the addition of a ‘lantern’ studio on top of the building, uses a contemporary language and palette of materials that refers back to, but also contrasts with the old building. Adjacent to the lantern, the top-floor glass and aluminium addition has been detailed simply and elegantly; sympathetic to the older architecture.
