Pod Café

NZIA Local Award 2006

Designed to move seamlessly from a daytime cafe and function rooms to a night-time bar/restaurant, Pod combines a modern urban aesthetic with welcoming spaces. HMA worked closely with Studio of Pacific Architecture, designers of the building envelope in which Pod is housed. From air circulation and managing the large areas of glass, to the built-in joinery, sculptural hanging ceiling and dark resin floor, every element involved careful research and detailing.
