“…. the impression is of three pavilions, all different but in harmony. Delicacy of detail and sympathetic colours emphasise the successful linking. This is a confident, “gutsy” design that respects both the modern and Victorian building styles.” NZIA Awards Jury, 2000

This addition and alteration project, on a narrow site in a hilly suburb of Wellington, required the respectful extension of an existing turn-of-the-century villa.

The addition, completed in a contemporary style, connects to the existing villa via a transparent linking element housing the Kitchen and Family Room.

The new structure includes three bedrooms and bathrooms while the restored villa has been simplified to provide the main living areas for the home as well as a guest bedroom and ensuite.
