Herriot + Melhuish: Architecture |
SILVERSCREEN WELLINGTON NZIA Central Region Award, 2001 “The architects have skilfully created a loose fit internal environment and an atmosphere ideally suited to intense activity.” NZIA Awards Jury, 2001 The raw concrete frame of this old fish market has been overlain with a fresh aesthetic for a Wellington-based film production and post-production company. All the internal spaces are arranged around a central atrium space with a combination of highly controlled work spaces required for filmmaking technologies, and open plan spaces required for creative thinking. The atrium space allows for a high level of natural light and ventilation. A natural palette of materials includes recycled timber flooring and timber battens, black steel and clear finished cement sheet. |
