Our studios in Wellington, Christchurch, Auckland and Tauranga work across both residential and commercial projects. We have experience in the education, recreation, heritage, health and hospitality sectors, multi-unit developments, civil projects and master-planning.
Directors Max Herriot, John Melhuish (Wellington studio), Duval O’Neill (Christchurch) and Matt Pearson (Auckland) lead a team of highly skilled architects and graduates. Registered architect Jenny Duck runs our Tauranga studio.
All directors are advocates for their industry and for a better built environment in New Zealand, regularly serving on awards juries and industry boards, and acting as mentors. John has recently been honoured as a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Architects. The practice belongs to a supportive, small-practice group that includes Wellington architects Architecture+, Tennant Brown Architects, Parsonson Architects, John Mills Architects and Slessor Architects.
Herriot Melhuish O’Neill Architects was formerly known as Herriot + Melhuish Architecture and was founded by Max and John in 1997. Duval became a director in 2007 and Matt in 2016.
