HMOA Christchurch Studio

Director Duval O'Neill leads the Christchurch studio alongside HMOA Associate Nic Sewell. Home for the Ōtautahi team is 65 Cambridge Tce, Sir Miles Warren's original office and apartment and an inspiring place to go to work each day.

Duval, Nic and the rest of the Christchurch studio work on both commercial and residential projects, with large multi-unit developments currently underway.

Born and bred in Southland, Duval was lead-architect on the Clifton Hill House, a finalist in the 2013 Home of the Year, and is known for his remarkable work on other Christchurch modernist homes. There's a great story behind the design of Duval's own home in Mt Pleasant, which replaced a Don Cowey-designed 1950s home destroyed by the Christchurch earthquakes.

The Christchurch studio also works with clients in Central Otago, like the award-winning Wanaka House.
